Will my RAID array automatically rebuild when I have a Hot Spare assigned?
When a hard drive fails in a software RAID array, the array will rebuild automatically, as long as your hot spare has been assigned ahead of time. You will receive an Email notification that the HDD has failed and the auto rebuild has begun.
