How to add second Areca RAID array to existing DSS V6 configuration and establish the connection to iSCSI target from Windows 2008 Server R2

Log on to DSS WebGUI
-
Go to SETUP → H/W RAID
-
Choose your Areca controller and press Areca button
-
Areca Management should open in a new window
-
Go to Create RAID Set
-
Choose available disks to create RAID Set
-
Select Confirm The Operation and press Submit
-
Go to create Volume Set
-
Choose your RAID Set created before
-
Press Submit
-
Please apply RAID settings
-
Select Confirm The Operation and press Submit
-
Go to DSS WebGUI
-
Go to CONFIGURATION → volume manager → Vol. groups
-
If you cannot see new unit press rescan
-
Choose available unit, choose appropriate action (new volume group, add to ...) and press apply
-
Press on the newly created volume group name on the left side of the screen
-
Choose new iSCSI volume action from the drop down menu
-
Choose Create new target automatically option
-
Set iSCSI volume type (File I/O, Block I/O)
-
Enter the size of iSCSI volume and press apply
-
Press OK
-
Go to Windows iSCSI Initiator on the host machine and type DSS IP address in Target field
-
Press Connect
-
Go to Windows Server Manager → Disk Management to create appropriate file system
-
Done.
