Problem:

I was able to connect to my iSCSI target using Solaris 8 which had Cisco iSCSI initiator compatiblity. But in Solaris 10 We have to use the bultin initiator and thats where we have issue

Solution:

While creating target change untick "Target Default Name" and set :
iqn.2009-07.com.open-e:<dss name>.<target alias>

Then we were able to connec to Solaris 10 by following the procedure in the following link:

http://www.idevelopment.info/data/Unix/Solaris/SOLARIS_ConnectingToAniSCSITargetWithOpen-iSCSIInitiatorUsingSolaris.shtml

In short we used the following commands:
# iscsiadm add discovery-address 192.168.248.213:3260

# iscsiadm modify discovery --sendtargets enable

# devfsadm -i iscsi

then after putting "format" command we were able to format iSCSI target
