Backup and restoring from different DOM and Demo CD

This document will describe how to create a dynamic unit, backup to the dynamic unit and then we will replace the DOM and restore from the dynamic unit
I backed up files from the share test, replaced the DOM and then restored the data to an new share named restore
We are starting with DOM Serial Number 96546118
We configure our Volume group and dynamic unit (an 8TB thumb drive)
We created our NAS volume and assigned a snapshot to it
CONFIGURATION -> volume manager -> vg[nr] -> Function: Volume manager.

In configuration ->NAS settings we enabled local backup settings
CONFIGURATION -> NAS settings -> Function: Local backup settings.
We selected Dynamic Volume and created a backup device
MAINTENANCE -> backup -> Function: Create new virtual backup device
Create a new backup tape, I named this USB
MAINTENANCE -> backup -> [device_name] -> Function: Backup device tapes.

Create a backup pool named backup
MAINTENANCE -> backup -> Function: Create new pool
We created a backup task named test1 and will backup share test and backup_db_lv0000
MAINTENANCE -> backup -> Backup tasks -> Function: Create new backup task.

We can start the backup task manually, by clicking on the green play button
MAINTENANCE -> backup -> Backup tasks -> Function: Create new backup task.

Or we can create a backup interval of once every 10 minutes
MAINTENANCE -> backup -> Backup tasks -> [task_name] -> Function: Create new schedule for backup task.

We have 2 backups
STATUS -> tasks -> Tasks -> [Task_type] -> Function: Tasks log.

We will now save your setup and configuration settings
MAINTENANCE -> miscellaneous -> Function: Save settings.
Power down the system and replace the DOM
MAINTENANCE -> shutdown -> Function: System shutdown.

Reboot the System with New DOM
Restore your settings, this will require a reboot
MAINTENANCE -> miscellaneous -> Function: Restore settings.
After reboot I got to maintenance restore and create a restore task
MAINTENANCE -> restore -> Function: Create new restore task.
By clicking on the green play button will manually start the restore task

Need to give user access through the Access control List (ACL) in order to see the restored data
You will need to add the users to the share after the restore task has been completed in order to access the Data
In the event of a physical disaster it is possible to use the Demo CD to restore data that was previously backed up.
Boot from demo cd
Configure network interface card
Restore settings
MAINTENANCE -> miscellaneous -> Function: Restore settings.
Run previously created restore task
It is also possible to use the Demo CD to restore the backup task to a newly created share.
