Problem:

I had modified my tasks and now would like to recreate the volume replication meta-data task. How this can be accomplished?

Solution:

In order to recreate the Volume Replication meta-data, access the GUI in the CONFIGURATION -> Volume Manager -> Vol. Replication -> Replication task manager and delete the replication task.

Then access the Volume Manager function  (CONFIGURATION -> volume manager -> Vol. groups -> vg00 ) and locate the ACTION pull-down menu then select: modify lvxxxx (where xxxx is your volume you will be removing the vol.replicaton meta-data.) then un-check the “Use volume replication” box and click on Apply.
This will now remove the Volume Replication meta-data.This operation will NOT change the user data or modify it at all.
Now, in order to create new meta-date, repeat the same procedures and make sure to check the “Use volume replication box” before clicking on the Apply button.
Perform this on both primary and secondary servers and then create the Volume Replication tasks on the primary server.
