Problems connecting to Windows Active Directory

Please try the following when experiencing issues connecting to your Active Directory Server
 
Check that you have set the proper time on both the ADS server and the Open-E server, Time difference can be no greater than 5 minutes.
SETUP -> hardware -> Function: Set time.
From the console CTRL-ALT-T -> Time configuration
 
Check that you have the Proper NTP server on both ADS and DSS
SETUP -> hardware -> Function: Set time.
If using NTP server, Try: 1.pool.ntp.org
 
Try Small update 306 to adjust the time (see http://kb.open-e.com/files/)
 
Check security settings on the ADS
Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options
 
Check DNS settings on both ADS and DSS
SETUP -> network -> Function: DNS settings.
 
Check that user is a Domain Administrator
 
Try from the console to ping the ADS server
CTRL-ALT-T
Ping
Try disconnect and reconnecting to ADS server
CONFIGURATION -> NAS settings -> Function: Authentication method.
Select workgroup (internal LDAP)
Click apply
Then select windows (ADS)
Click apply
 
try disabling the "Digitally sign communications for Server and Client"
Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\
RPC may not work when trying to go between different subnets, This is dependent on your network. please test with ADS server and Open-E server in the same subnet.
After ADS reconnection, it may take a while to generate a new Kerberos ticket
We do not support Multiple Domains
 
Try to connect with one of the PDC entries to verify connectivity (without ADS)
 
Verify that your ADS DNS Forward and Reverse zones are correct
