No Failover during LSI RAID controller reset

Article ID: 2761

PROBLEM: No failover when LSI/Avago RAID controller resets

Controller ID:  0  Controller encountered a fatal error and was reset

EXPLENATION: Failover in DSS V7 reacts (moves resources to the remote node) on I/O errors only. Not on RAID controller errors.

SOLUTION: Please contact Open-E support for Small Update (for versions up12 and up54) which enable Failover start on this specific LSI/Avago RAID controller error

In release notes in the newer firmware we can find fix:
"Preventing controller reset after running several hours with ASPM(Active State Power Management) enabled"

So it is also highly recommended to update the controller firmware or RMA if ASPM is enabled on LSI controller.
