Problem:

I’m getting many of the following errors, when connecting to the iSCSI target while using my DSS V6 and Windows 2008.

check_segment_length(1587) data too long 102 30620 8192

Solution:

This error could appear not only with V6, but with iSCSI-R3 and DSS V5. To solve it and get rid of this error message, please check the Initiator settings as it could be off.

Also, please change the MaxRecvDataSegmentLength and MaxXmitDataSegmentLength to 65536

To do this go to the Console screen and enter the following:

Ctl-Alt-W
Select Tuning Options
Select iSCSI Daemon options
Select Target Options
Select a target

Set MaxRecvDataSegmentLength and MaxXmitDataSegmentLength to 65536.
