Symptom:
I am trying to add users/ groups with ID lower than 101 to my NIS server but I can’t. I found this error message in the logs:
error for group +netlibb1: gid (13) lower than 101.
error for group +daemon2: gid (1) lower than 101.
Synchronize error for user +root:uid0 (0) lower than 101.
Problem:
Can’t sync users and groups.
Solution:
ID’s lower than 101 are system preserved, system admins need to change the ID’s to be higher.
